GDM was founded in 1992 by Geoff, Derek and Maureen, 'GDM'. Having previously worked together for a number of years, the opportunity arose for them to form a partnership. Their mission, was to provide a sub-contract engineering service that was both reliable and competitive, with this simple plan in mind the company has continued to expand and has become a name upon which its customers have continued to depend upon.
With a fast turn around and a flexible approach to their customers requirements, GDM has been able to maintain a harmonious working relationship with its customers, some of which have been clients from the very out set.
Over the years there have been a number of changes at the firm, in 2004 a major relocation to both newer and larger premises in Sandy from the original starting point in Biggleswade. This also encompassed the addition of new machines, increased work force and not to mention the new logo, the original logo being pictured.
With all this said the core elements of the company have remained the same, Quality, Reliability and Competitiveness.
GDM has over the years built up a reputation of quality, working to its own quality manual which has been approved to ISO:9001-2008 standard.
This has enabled them to bench mark a level of quality and maintain its service to its customers, proving them to be a reliable source for the components they produce.
GDM provides parts for a wide range of industries, each sector requiring a different skill set to meet its demands, with this in mind they continue to monitor their quality system and recommendations are adapted as when necessary, enabling them to react to any challenges a project might involve, before they become problems, that need to be solved.
GDM is based in Sandy, along the A1(M) corridor, it has customer base both locally, covering the Herts, Beds, Bucks and Cambridgeshire areas, but also caters for it customers further afield, using either its own or a local courier, dedicated same day delivery service, or using National over night next day options.
The goods are packaged in an appropriate manner for the method of delivery. We can utilize customer supplied packaging, or use a mutually agreed method for any items of the more delicate nature. All goods are fully insured as standard.
